IAM Canada – ONTARIO’S ALUMINUM NEEDS YOU!
Ontario’s aluminum industry supports thousands of jobs, strengthens communities, and drives Ontario’s economy. But right now, these jobs are at risk.
Ontario producers face unfair competition from offshore imports, while U.S. tariffs block access to our largest export market. Without decisive action, we could lose valuable skills, good-paying jobs, and local economic stability.
Take action now. Tell the Ontario government to protect our aluminum industry and the workers who rely on it.

IAM Canada – Your Solidarity Made the Difference, Thank You!
Dear IAM Sisters and Brothers,
I would like to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to all of you in the IAM union, including our members, districts, and locals, who stood shoulder to shoulder with our flight attendant sisters and brothers from CUPE during their recent job action.
Across all provinces, your participation made a real impact. From coast to coast to coast, members, districts, and locals stepped up, showed support, and reinforced our union’s solidarity. The note of gratitude we received from CUPE, (attached) which I am sharing with you today, is a direct result of your solidarity and the work you put in.
None of this would have been possible without you. Your presence on the picket lines, your public messages, and your willingness to stand together made a meaningful difference.
Together we sent a strong message that when workers are treated unfairly, they are not alone and that our union stands united in the fight for respect and dignity in the workplace.
I ask that you proudly share this message with your members. By sharing it, you are inspiring others to see the power of our collective strength. Let everyone in your local know that their actions matter, that their solidarity is felt, and that together we can make a real difference.
I am proud of every one of you for the role you played in this moment. The solidarity you demonstrated has not only strengthened our bond with our sisters and brothers in the airline sector but has also advanced the broader fight for workers’ rights across the industry.
In solidarity, always,
David Chartrand
General Vice-President

IAM Canada – IAM Members at Voyageur Aviation Ratify First Deal
The Engineering Department at Voyageur Aviation in North Bay, ON, ratified their very first collective agreement after joining the IAM Union in January. Following several bargaining sessions with the employer, members voted in favour of the offer.
The new agreement delivers meaningful gains for the members, including increased vacation, enhanced training opportunities, significant initial wage increases, and a structured wage scale moving forward.
International Representative Scott Jackson highlighted the impact of the agreement, stating, “The agreement provides these new members with an increase to vacation, training opportunities, significant initial wage increases and a wage scale going forward.”
International Representative Neil Giroux praised the commitment of Mohammed Mansour, a member who assisted in negotiations, noting, “Mohammed was indispensable and relentless in ensuring that we got the best deal possible for his co-workers.”
The IAM proudly welcomes its newest members, who play a vital role in engineering and project management at Voyageur Aviation.
