Even though the expiration of the collective agreement may seem far away \u2014 March 31, 2026 \u2014 members are already laying the foundations of their collective strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meetings That Bring Members Together<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It all began this summer, when the Executive and the Advisory Committee sat down together to reflect on a key question: how can we ensure that members\u2019 voices will be heard \u2014 loud and clear \u2014 when the time for bargaining arrives?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These discussions helped identify the challenges that stand in the way and inspired concrete, realistic solutions. The focus is on strengthening presence on the shop floor, increasing direct exchanges with members, enhancing the visibility and engagement of stewards, and using social media, videos, and other communication tools so that every member knows exactly where Local 1751 stands \u2014 and where it\u2019s headed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Strategic Plan in the Making<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These ideas didn\u2019t stay on paper. They were presented to the Executive of Local 1751, which met and officially launched the process of developing a strategic mobilization plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This plan will help IAM Local 1751 to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build a clear and realistic timeline leading up to March 2026;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up the necessary committees to support a potential strike vote if needed \u2014 including communications, picketing, finance, member services, and visibility;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure consistent follow-up with regular actions to maintain momentum and enthusiasm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Human and United Strength<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What stands out from these meetings, above all, is the human strength of Local 1751. Behind every decision and every strategy are workers determined to defend their rights, protect their gains, and improve their working conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As one member summarized at the end of a meeting: \u201cIt\u2019s together, in solidarity and trust, that we\u2019ll be able to get what we deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By moving forward together toward 2026, IAM Local 1751 is building far more than just a bargaining plan \u2014 it\u2019s building a true community of solidarity and pride.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At IAM Local 1751, the time has come for preparation and unity.
