Robert Savoie started his career in the airline industry in 1979 at CP Air which, after many mergers, became Canadian Airlines International. He started his involvement in the union movement as Shop Steward. He then occupied the functions of Chief Shop Steward, member of the Executive Committee of Local Lodge 2309 and President of that same Local Lodge. From 1999 to 2002, he worked on the merger of the Canadian Airlines International and Air Canada collective agreements as member of the Negotiations Committee. Since his beginning as Organizer in May 2004, Robert helped organize new members from Kuehne & Nagel, Swissport Canada Handling Inc., Messier Dowty, etc. Robert is a true unionst who firmly believes that, each worker must work in a secured environment and is entitled to respect and dignity.

Ian became a member of the IAM in 1974 when he joined Canadian Pacific Airlines. Over the years he has held several positions in the Union including Chief Shop Steward, General Chairperson and, at present, Organizer for District Lodge 140. He prides himself in providing professional leadership to the members of the IAM in the areas of WSIB, grievance/arbitration process, pension planning and collective bargaining just to mention a few. Over the years he has experienced many of the problems facing the membership when working with large companies as they restructure to compete on the international stage. As an organizer for the IAM Ian has had much success and he continues to provide the same high level of energy when working with new members joining the IAM.
